Small place for peruvian food. Lomo Saltado and Jalea were fairly good. They did not have Inka Kola when I was there.

Not visually the most appealing place. BUT, friendly staff, reasonably priced tasty food and Peruvian beer. I enjoyed this a lot and would definitely come back.

On a fateful day in Rome, with a dead phone and a lost way back to my hotel, I stumbled upon a small Peruvian eatery tucked away in a quiet corner. As a Peruvian myself, the prospect of a meal that wasn't pasta was a welcome change. Eager and curious, I decided to try the 'Leche de Tigre' - a light, fish-only dish, considering my shrimp allergy. Each spoonful was a fireworks display of flavors, reminding me of the tangy, invigorating taste of ceviche back home. It was a taste of Peru amidst the Roman cityscape, a culinary teleportation that had me hooked. What really stood out was the affordability of this hidden gem. Unlike many Peruvian dining places, this one didn't make your wallet lighter while keeping your stomach full. They even offered a daily menu for those looking for varied options. I savored a liter of Maracuya juice, which was a steal at just 8 euros. This wasn't any high-end, flashy Peruvian restaurant. It's a warm, family-run place where authenticity shines through in every dish, and generous portions remind you of home-cooked meals. I'm giving this place a well-deserved 5 stars. I've shared some pictures and the menu for you to check out. Stay tuned as I continue to uncover culinary treasures from around the globe. This is Cesar, your digital nomad food reviewer, signing off.

I'm not an expert in Latin food, but my son told me it is authentic. Simple place. We took only few small dishes as it was late. Seems like a good value for money.

Good peruvian food at great prices at this hole-in-wall place. The Chaufa is a good choice. Drinks are well priced.

Nestled in a quiet corner of Rome at Via Emanuele Filiberto, Rico Perú ristorante latinoamericano offers an authentic taste of Peruvian cuisine far from the usual Italian fare. This modest, family-run eatery may not boast the glitz and glamour of high-end restaurants, but its charm lies in delivering genuine, home-cooked flavors that transport you straight to the heart of Peru.

The menu is a treasure trove for anyone eager to explore classic Peruvian dishes. The Lomo Saltado, a flavorful stir-fry of marinated beef, vegetables, and rice, stands out for its perfect balance of savory and tangy notes. Equally impressive is the Jalea, a crispy, golden seafood platter that bursts with freshness. For those seeking lighter fare, the Leche de Tigre — a zesty, fish-only ceviche-inspired dish — offers a refreshing and vivid taste experience, as described by a loyal patron who found it evocative of Peru’s coastal culinary heritage.

Beyond the food, the welcoming and amiable staff enhance the dining experience, adding warmth to this small but inviting space. It’s a place where the focus is on affordable, generous portions without compromising quality. The presence of Peruvian beers complements the meal well, although Inka Kola might sometimes be missing — a minor drawback in an otherwise delightful setting.

What truly makes Rico Perú special is its ability to deliver authentic, bold flavors in an unpretentious environment. Whether it’s a quick lunch or a relaxed dinner, you feel the passion behind every bite. I was especially taken by their fresh maracuya juice — a tangy, sweet elixir that perfectly mirrors the vibrant spirit of Latin America.

In the heart of Rome’s bustling streets, Rico Perú ristorante latinoamericano stands as a culinary beacon for anyone craving something beyond the ordinary. It reminds us that excellent food doesn’t need flashy interiors, just sincerity, tradition, and a good dose of soul.
